HylaFax Architecture
- User wants to send a fax
- Request goes to A virtual printer Definition on the >> Print server
- The print subsystem converts the document into PDF format using the Optio software.
- The print subsystem then sends the converted document to the fax servers via the Hylafax client plugin.
- The print subsystem queries DNS for the IP address of efax.domain.com, which is a manually(floating VIP) between hylafax1(10.10.0.231) & hylafax2 (10.10.0.234)
- Each Hylafax server has a dedicated T1 circuit with 23 fax circuits available per T1. The VIP is manually failed over from host to host, which means that one fax server is a standby. There is an internal card that accepts the T1 and acts as a phone switch (approx cost $7,000-.
